Teaching Methodology
I believe in a teaching methodology that strengthens relationships between peers, designs classes around an experiential learning process and that incorporates the students’ different learning approaches provides the basis for a solid development of skills. The classes and courses I propose to teach aim to provide authentic and concrete experiences. The intention is to provide tools for each person to develop their own skills to “construct, deconstruct and reconstruct” themselves that can be applied to their future dance experiences. (PINTO, 2020)
For the knowledge of the body and its faculties expressive situations it is necessary to create improvisation situations in which the student experiences new ways to move or reshape your own movements in order to fulfill a assignment. When creating or discovering a new way of making a movement, the student acquires a more accurate knowledge of yourself and is encouraged to experiment and, later, try to get more involved with the group to discover new things or create together. (PINTO, 2005)
By using various methods and formats, the students can experiment with a new expressive language ensuring the autonomy of art. I conduct classes to encourage open brainstorming, then guide the students or dancers to refine their ideas. This gives a structure to the Creative Process that allows them to contemplate all the diversity and create unusual results. (PINTO, 2020)
The movement is a rich source of observation, both for students and for teachers, because from the observation it is verified that the movement can reveal important aspects of life. From the movement students can go through experiences that assist you in social integration as well as in forming a critical view of the world that surrounds him. (PINTO, 2005)
The various forms of rhythmic activities can appear in class in basic knowledge in music; study of national folk dances and other countries, circular dances, popular dances, classical dances, among others. This can be worked through observation, participation and creation, always in a perspective for reflection and discussion of the content studied. (PINTO, 2005)
The possibilities of movement can be researched from external materials that introduce a problem to be solved by the body with the insertion of that material in space. The common interest should be research on how to use the material to create new possibilities for movement. In addition to this proposal, the study can be launched movement variation with other stimuli such as change of pace, scenery, costume, theme, or even the influence of gravity on the body.
